As the wind whispers
thorough the dry leaves on the ground and the nippy air howls through the bare trees,
winter is upon us and so is the holiday season. Thanksgiving is but a gobble away and we
have so much to be grateful for. The benefits we enjoy everyday of our retirement were
gained through long hours of the UAW bargaining hard for us to have a better retirement,
to which we are truly blessed. Our chapter continues to grow and that we love to see. Even
retirees that have been retired for a while have decided to come. Now they know what they
been missing. There will be no business meetings the last two months of the year due to
our holiday banquets. The chapter does not meet again until March of 2001. To our
snowbirds, have a healthy and safe winter, a blessed holiday and we will look forward to
seeing you next spring. Also, I would like to thank all the retirees for their prayers,
cards, phone calls and get well wishes of many during my recent illness. It has been a
long haul and you certainly brightened my days. God bless all of you. As I close for this month, eat plenty, take care and give thanks for all the good and plenty we have. Your retiree president Sharon McMurray |
