On Tuesday, November 21,
2000 in Washington, DC, UAW President Stephen P. Yokich and I will join with Bill Ford and
Jacque Nasser of Ford Motor Company and Peter Pestillo of Visteon in publicly announcing
the UAW-Ford Family Service and Learning Center (FSLC) Program. The announcement will be
held at the National Press Club from 10:00 a.m. until around 11:00 a.m. Eastern Standard
Time and will be broadcast live on FCN. The FSLC, a result of 1999 UAW-Ford National Negotiations, is the most comprehensive union- management partnership ever negotiated to support the needs of working families, individuals and communities. President Yokich, the National Negotiating Committee and our staff did a great job in bringing about this benefit for our membership. All of the FSLC's will offer a wide range of educational, retiree and volunteer programs. In addition, the FSLC's in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Kansas City and Louisville will have dedicated childcare centers that operate up to 24-hours per accordance with need up to seven days per week. In Detroit centers serving the entire metro area. Locations other than community network childcare. |
