CITIZENSHIP AND LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE is the work site political-legislative arm of the local union and is the vital workplace political activator. While CAP priorities are developed by Convention action - implemented by the National CAP department through the regions and our network of CAP councils - the Citizenship and Legislative Committee is the basic link with our members at work in assisting the implementation of voter registration and get-out-the-vote drives, dollar drives, letter writing campaigns, and publicizing the issues and positions of public officials. They also encourage special groups at the work site - youth, women, minorities - to become active.
