President's Report / Saline Loan
Mark Caruso

Seniority will be exercised by groups and then seniority within the group. Group "A" being the highest seniority group.

Saline currently has 469 Ford production workers that will be placed in (Group A).

Loaned workers will exercise their current seniority with other loaned workers at Saline (Group B).

Visteon employees will exercise their seniority with other Visteon employees (Group C). The impact to Saline will not be known until the postings are completed.

Because of the fluctuating number of Ford employees in the Jobs bank the company has posted for the maximum openings possible. This however may not reflect the number of jobs that will be filled.

At the Unions request the Visteon temporary employees that may be displaced by Ford loaned employees will have preferential treatment for rehiring back to the Saline location. In addition, they will be on a list for preferential hiring at UAW-ACH and Ford locations via an ACH-wide list.

It is important that Visteon workers contact information is accurate in Labor Relations for future employment opportunities. Contact information MUST be done in person. You may also keep your information up to date by filling out a form at the Local 892 Union hall.

Also, I suggest you stay on the UAW Local 892 Digital News e-mail list for more information. If you are not registered please click here and sign in at the upper right of our home page.

Fraternally,

Mark Caruso
President, UAW Local 892
