If you are experiencing ongoing service concerns with your Ford or L/M vehicle, consult with the service manager or general manager of the dealership. If you do not get any satisfaction, the first step is to contact the Ford Customer Relationship Center. The Center’s personnel will ask for some detailed information and typically a “red flag” goes up on that dealerships service manager’s computer within 24 hours. If you do not receive a call from the dealership within a reasonable time, give the service manager a call back to see if something can be worked out. If you do not feel you are being treated fairly or he/she seems not to care, contact me. I will also request information from you. I will need to know who you have spoken with, when repairs were performed and most important the vehicle identification number, just to name a few.
The Ford A-Plan Headquarters no longer gives information on current vehicle incentives over the phone. You can still retrieve this information from their website which is www.axz.ford.com. If you do not have access to a computer, or feel like talking with a real person, you may call the Ford Division Market Center for this information. That number is listed below.
If you are considering the purchase of an extended service warranty for your vehicle, look at purchasing a Ford Extended Service Plan. Other types of warranty plans are offered through the mail and most dealerships even sell them. The best, no hassle extended service plan is the one sold by Ford Motor Company.
Thanks to the letter of agreement dated December 1, 2000, written during the 1999 National Negotiations, a Ford Employee or Retiree, is entitled to the ESP Disappearing Deductible option as a plan upgrade at no additional cost. This letter of agreement is still in effect. Any ESP warranties acquired after this date are covered under the zero deductible plans. This means, if you purchase either Ford PowertrainCARE, BaseCARE, ExtraCARE, or the PremiumCARE extended service plan, you no longer have to pay the standard $ 50.00 or $ 100.00 deductible when ESP covered repairs are performed at the dealership where the ESP was purchased. If you are traveling or for some reason need to use a different dealership, you will be expected to pay either the $ 50.00 or $ 100.00 deductible.
While on the subject of the Ford ESP warranties, I have had several incidences when employees should have had the zero deductible but were charged $ 50.00 or $ 100.00 when warranty work was performed. When the employees questioned the service department personnel, they were told that according to the Ford computer system, it stated there was a deductible cost. These employees are coming to me and requesting reimbursement. There seems to be a glitch in the system and proper information is not getting to the ESP Headquarters in a timely manner. If you just purchased or have had the ESP Disappearing Deductible and not used it, I would strongly suggest you call the ESP Headquarters to verify information. When you purchase any Ford ESP warranty you should receive documentation in the mail to have for your records.
